Tom shared at Shirley Grace, continuing the series of 36 seed truths. This talk focuses on Jesus’ amazing incarnation - the eternal Son of God fully taking on humanity.

In addition to two key Bible passages, quotes from famous names from church history are cited to show how they wrestled with how Jesus could be fully God AND fully man.

In this talk given at Grace Church Shirley, Tom looked at some of the historical roots of the 6-week annual event leading up to Easter. He discovered some surprises in where Lent came fomr and how it is celebrated today - and was led to ask some hard questions, including “Why just Lent?”

Continuing the series of 36 Seed Truths - which survey Bible doctrine - Tom took on the third truth, Temptation and the Fall.

The study reveals some hard things to hear and helps to answer some of the “unanswerable” questions about the origin of evil in the world - and how a good God could allow bad things to happen to good people. Lots to think about and chew on . . .

Tom spoke at the Frankley Grace Community Church - to share the significance of mankind as God’s masterpiece creation: God made mankind in his image and God made mankind to manage the planet. Listen and be challenged about how this simple Seed Truth can take root and have a huge impact in your worldview and daily life.

As Jonah came close to death (or perhaps died), he is faced with the consequences of his own choices. His emotions are confused and he loses sight of the truth. But when he calls to God, he still finds more mercy than he deserves. Ironic for a specially-chosen prophet of God - who finds himself wondering if he still deserves God’s grace and forgiveness.

As part of their series on the first book of the Bible, Tom was asked to share an overview of these two drama-filled chapters - where we find the root of evil, the beginning of blaming and shaming, and a God who continues to call his children to come back to him.

Another look at this well-known passage in Matthew 5.13-16, throwing a slightly different light on our common understanding. In the end, it’s a call to live in such a way that people are drawn to God.
